Tullow Waste Minimisation Club

Tullow is a growing market town with increasing economic activity and strong tourism and residential development. It is situated approximately 9km from Carlow Town. Like other small towns throughout Ireland, businesses in Tullow are facing growing issues in relation to waste management. With the drive on for businesses to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle their waste, businesses here are looking for new ways to overcome the obstacles they face.
Tullow has approximately 120 businesses divided accordingly:

Current Commercial Waste Situation
The principle waste streams are paper, glass, cardboard, plastic and other. There is some degree of segregation taking place already with some of this segregated material being recycled. Collections vary between a local authority collection and a private collection, while a substantial number of companies do not avail of any method of collection.
Many businesses in the Tullow area are interested in forming a Waste Club to try and deal with the waste issues that they face. Already a committee has been formed consisting of a number of representative businesses and the process is being facilitated by County Carlow Chamber of Commerce. To date the committee have identified a site, which would be suitable for the collective storage and segregation of recyclable waste and which could act as a central collection point. This waste club is to be set up as a limited company. The next step for Tullow Waste Club is to source a contractor(s) to service their needs.
These businesses are extremely committed to establishing this waste club and as such are a unique business opportunity for a contractor who can appreciate the potential of this initiative.
