Repak Ltd.

Repak, established in 1997, is a member based, not-for-profit organisation. It is the only Government–approved voluntary packaging compliance scheme in Ireland, with a remit to enable member companies to meet their recycling and recovery obligations and thereby, help Ireland meet its EU packaging waste recovery targets.

The scheme works on the principle of shared responsibility and members pay a fee based on the amount and type of packaging they place on the market. Repak do not directly recycle or pay for the recycling of members' packaging waste, rather it subsidises the costs of collection and recycling of packaging waste placed on the market by its members, through a nationwide network of approved recovery operators and local authorities.
